Corns, Calluses & Cracked Heels

Corns, Calluses & Cracked Heels

Corns and calluses are thick patches of hardened skin on specific areas of the foot. Dry and thickened skin around the heel can cause the skin to crack and become painful.

General footcare includes treatment of nails, corns, calluses, cracked heels, fungal nail infections, ingrown nails, verrucae and skin conditions. The best way to think of it is a MOT of your feet.

The first time you come to see us for your appointment, our podiatrists will carry out a full assessment of your feet. This will include a review of your medical history, medication and any previous treatment. This helps us to understand the full picture.

Your appointment will include looking at your footwear, circulation, skin condition as well as treating your problem you have attended for. During this appointment the podiatrist will use appropriate instruments to complete your treatment in a safe and effective way.

Within your appointment we will have a discussion about your individual needs and help develop an appropriate treatment plan for you. We will be able to advise you on any helpful prevention strategies, as well as give you footwear advice if appropriate to keep your feet in optimal condition.

Everyone who attends our clinic has specific needs, so you will be assessed on an individual basis and the podiatrist or foot health practitioner will discuss your options depending on your requirements.

You do not need to be in pain to book an appointment with our podiatrist. If you would like a review of your feet, we are more than happy to help and do a full assessment to look for any potential problems, and advise you on how to maintain your feet in the best way possible.
